I wake up at 5 a.m. every morning and leave home at 6:15ish. My half hour commute is rewarded by beautiful sunrises — always different, some more spectacular than others. On some days, I drive in and I’m fine, and on other days, I am very drowsy. On this particular day, I was extremely drowsy; as I came up to Woodmont Orchard, in Londonderry, NH, I was greeted by the moon, she looked beautiful in the early morning dawn. As I pulled over for some respite, I decided to write the following.
Hello moon
what are you doing
up so late?
Here I am
making an
effort to
stay awake
and there you
are beaming
down at me.

I really like this. I can just picture you sitting there at the side of the road by the orchard admiring the moon.

Thank you. I remember thinking that and wishing I was still in bed!

Can you get my shiny orb out of a tree for me?

I’ll go fishing for it in the lake.

I wish I could take credit for the picture, but if you click on the link it will take you right to the photographer, who just happens to be from NH as well! Perhaps it was the same moon I saw 🙂
