I am female, mother, teacher. I enjoy writing my thoughts on paper. I wrote poetry back in highschool because it was homework. I really didn’t write much after that, but when I began my college career again, at the age of 37, I had to write a poem about unrequited love for my English class, which will go nameless, until I can remember what the name of the course was….wait….the course was called “The myths and ideas of Love” and the poem was “I Crave Thee”.
At some point, a former friend, and I say former because she no longer speaks to me, not sure why, gave me a journal. In this journal I began to write my thoughts. At some point, I realized that my thoughts had a lyrical quality to them. I wrote about what was bothering me, about life, about love, about imagined love, you name it, I wrote about it in snippets.
Later, I became part of a poetry group. Listening to others read what they had written was in a sense inspiring. Some of them were humorous, some, dry and boring, some politically interesting, others different and quirky. I continued to write.
One thing I have come to find out about me is that I cannot write on the spot, I write when I am inspired, when something moves me. The words bubble out of me and flow on paper, napkin, Dunkin Donuts styrofoam cup, it matters not, other than the ink touches the material that will capture my thoughts.
In this blog, I will share all that I have written. In short, this blog is a chronicle of my life via some of my “poetry”, musings, and snippets of life.
I thank you for your comments.
